Usually, losing weight is a long journey. The natural course of reaching your desired weight goal can take months, but sometimes, you don’t have that time. Whether you want to lose some weight to fit into a particular dress, or if you want to lose weight for a wedding, a ceremony or a surgery, or to drastically improve your health – you might want to accelerate your weight loss journey.

Most of the crash diets out there will help you lose a significant amount of weight, but will also leave you hungry and satisfied. If you don’t want that, there are, of course, some natural but also effective ways to lose a large amount of weight in a relatively short period of time.

Here are some tricks and tips for losing weight fast.

  • Cut Back on Sugar and Carb. Not just a small amount, but completely. When your goal is to lose weight fast, you have to immediately cut back on more than 90% of your sugar intake and carbohydrate-based meals. This means no sugary drinks, no energy drinks, no sodas and carbonated drinks, no fruit juices, as well as no white rice, white bread or white pasta.

The moment you cut back on your carbs, it automatically means you have to stop eating fast food or any carb-based meals, i.e. hamburgers, pasta, pizza. At the same time, all baked confectionery items, i.e. cakes, cookies, biscuits are taboo to you. Chocolates, unless you prefer dark chocolates, are out-of-reach for you as well.

  • Let Go of One Bad Habit of Yours. Everyone has a bad habit that affects their health and weight. It could be that you hate to exercise, take a transport to everywhere, add sugar to your coffee, sleep too little or too much, drink too much beer, or always prefer to sit down, etc. Find out what your particular bad habit is that’s adding to your weight gain, and stop it, immediately.

Almost everything we do every day affects our health in some ways – positive or negative. If we can recognize our bad habits and let go of them, losing weight will become easier.

  • Get Moving. You need to burn more calories than you consume, which means you have to start doing more physical activities. If you’ve never been one to exercise before, the tiniest start can make a difference. Start with jogging, running or even walking – they work wonders with your weight loss program. For any healthy adult, a 45-minute session every day would be enough, but if you are in a hurry to lose weight fast, two 45-minute sessions every day would be good enough.
  • Start Lifting Weights. If you’re already accustomed to exercising in some form, weight lifting might help. 3 to 4 days a week at the gym would do for some warm-up exercises and some light weight lifting, with the help of a professional trainer. Lifting weights can help burn a lot of calories stored inside your body, which makes you lose weight.

At the same time, if you are on a low-carb diet, you might even build some muscles while burning your calories and lose weight. If that’s not on the agenda, stay off the weight lifting

  • Reduce your Portions. Most of us don’t know when to stop eating and so end up with eating more than what our body needs. One of the first things you need to do to lose weight is to reduce your meal portions by half.

The key to healthy eating is to eat frequently throughout the day but in small portions. Even if you reduce your portions by half, chances are it will still be enough for your body. Your body will have fewer calories to burn, and you’ll lose weight faster.

  • Drink a Lot of Water. Water is very important for your health. More often than not, when you think you’re hungry, you might actually be thirsty. Unnecessary snacking when you are not even hungry will only add to your body weight. Therefore, the more you drink water, the fewer calories you are putting inside your body.

To keep your body hydrated, all you need is water and nothing else. You don’t need to drink fruit juice, soda, powdered drinks or energy drinks for hydration, only water. Water has all the nutrients you need for your body’s hydration; anything else to drink will just be empty calories.

  • Track Your Progress. Tracking your progress can be a great boost to your weight loss journey. When you track your weight loss, you can see if your techniques are working. You can take your weight every day or once a week – whichever suits your urgency. A positive change to your body can make it harder for you to cheat on your healthy lifestyle the next time you are in the mood for a pizza.
  • Keep a Realistic Goal. You might want to lose weight, you have to try the healthy way, even if it takes you longer than others.

It is possible to lose weight needs to take a scientific and natural path, and so does the concept of losing weight fast. It is different for different people, but if you are sincere, you can definitely lose a significant amount of weight when you are following the right techniques.
